Welcome!

Welcome to Accumulation's Adventure! En lieu of a traditional "first post," I thought I would type up a little FAQ, giving you an overview of what I hope to accomplish with this blog, and with my WoW toon Accumulation.

Who are you?
I'm Justin Davis. By day I work for Hammersuit, and by night I (among other things) I play WoW at what I consider a semi-hardcore level. My main is a level 80 Affliction Warlock on Alleria-US named Bulb. Accumulation herself is a Level 1 Human Paladin, also on Alleria-US.

So... What's the point of Accumulation's adventure?
Accumulation is an idea I've had for some time for a "non-traditional" WoW toon. I'm inspired by Noor the Pacifist, who leveled from 1-80 without ever killing anything. Melee-only Hunter Gweryc, and the Naked Troll Project also provided inspiration.

The idea is a quite simple one: See how much gold Accumulation can... accumulate by only playing the auction house. Nothing else. So, from moment 1, she will run from Northshire Abbey to Stormwind, sell the clothes on her back (and the mallet in her hand), and go to work making her fortune.

Some of my friends said it would be impossible. They said I should bend the rules and make quick G by signing guild charters, or giving her at least 1G in "seed money." But I refused. Accumulation is going to be a self-made woman, dammit.

Why are you doing this?
I enjoy playing the Auction House. If you take risks, it can be just as dramatic as a great PVP match or raid boss. One of the very first things I did when dinging 70 in Burning Crusade was spend my ENTIRE WoW savings buying up (what I thought) was a great deal on stack after stack of Eternium Ore. I spent DAYS agonizing over that decision, convinced that I'd blown my savings, that the bottom had fallen out of the market, that I'd never afford a flying mount, etc. In the end, I turned a huge profit on that transaction, and I've been hooked on the Auction House ever since.

What also appeals to me is that I literally don't know if this will work. How much money will the starter gear vendor for? Is there ANYTHING you can buy with so little and turn a profit on? It's an adventure!

I hope you'll come on it with me.
